Stupid Oil Question
One of the arguments that some lefty friends at work bring up is this; "drilling more domestic oil will not do anything to reduce the price at the pump...it could take 5 to 10 years to see results".
First, I point out that some of us have been screaming about domestic production for over 10 years. Which would mean that we could have had more domestic supply, less interest in the Middle East, and maybe have not been drawn into...whatever. Second, if that logic is valid, why should I try to reduce my carbon footprint? It won't help right away, ergo the effort is futile.
I hold someone up to their own standard, and suddenly, I'm the bad guy...sheesh.
