A Shirt I May Have to Order

5-4

In the good news this week, 5 Supreme Court Justices were able to identify a specifically enumerated right in the Constitution, and admit that it is there.

In the bad news this week, 4 Justices apparently could not. One would think that after managing to find rights that have never been in the founding documents, these legal sages could muster up some basic reading comprehension skills.

Stupid Oil Question

One of the arguments that some lefty friends at work bring up is this; "drilling more domestic oil will not do anything to reduce the price at the pump...it could take 5 to 10 years to see results".

First, I point out that some of us have been screaming about domestic production for over 10 years. Which would mean that we could have had more domestic supply, less interest in the Middle East, and maybe have not been drawn into...whatever. Second, if that logic is valid, why should I try to reduce my carbon footprint? It won't help right away, ergo the effort is futile.

I hold someone up to their own standard, and suddenly, I'm the bad guy...sheesh.

Renewable Energy Now! Wait...we have to study that first

NIMBY and payola still reign supreme. Project WhateverItIsToday sounds great, but we have to examine it's environmental impact, perform exhaustive studies, and make sure it is not in the backyard of anyone who matters.

It's not important that we harness renewable energy sources...just that we talk about it. If it sounds like we are trying, we all get participation trophies!

Light Blogging

It's not much of an excuse, but the real world has had plenty of distractions of late, so not much has been updated here. However, given the rapid-fire series of major events, I'll have to start ranting once more.

Be gentle, it's been a while.
